Why haven't I heard of your brand?

We are a small family facility specializing in a regional brand. Rather than going national, our focus is on quality and creativity for the best product available. The savings in avoiding national marketing campaigns can be passed on to our customers.

Isn’t chicken supposed to be first instead of chicken meal?

Not necessarily. Chicken is 70-80% water and typically ends up being 4th or 5th on the ingredient deck. Chicken meal contains bones, cartilage, and collagen that isn’t necessarily found in “chicken.”

Where do you get your ingredients?

We source as many ingredients as we can from local farms and ranchers with most of our ingredients coming from within 100 miles of Muenster, TX. If we do have to source from outside of Texas, we make sure it’s North American sourced and has undergone rigorous quality control standards

I don’t see one that says Puppy, Senior, or Adult. How do I pick the right one?

Typically that’s just an excuse to charge more for a food by marketers. In the wild, all dogs, regardless of age, eat the same thing from the day they’re weaned, meat! For that reason, all of our foods are considered All Life Stages. We have taken the stance that ALL dogs are entitled to premium healthy ingredients.

What is a mixed tocopherol? It sounds like a chemical.

Another scientific word for Vitamin E extract. It’s used as a natural preservative so that we don’t have to use BHA, BHT, or ethoxyquin.

What is zinc amino acid complex? It sounds scary.

It’s just zinc! Pet food is forced to use certain terms by the FDA, which are usually scientific versions of words and can sound long and scary. Zinc is a great ingredient that all dogs need.

Is this really your food? And if so, why is it better?

We use a recipe from the manufacturer. It’s better because it’s made fresh for us and we have an intimate knowledge of the recipe and how/where it’s made.

Why wouldn't I just buy Muenster if they make it for you?

Because we don’t have to go through a middleman to get this product. It’s a factory-direct relationship, which means we avoid several markups on the product.

How often and how much do you recommend feeding?

Once is actually better for dogs. They were designed to eat one large meal a day as opposed to several smaller meals. In regards to serving size, every pet is unique. It’s important to start with the recommended feeding rates on the bag,
and then adjust accordingly. For example, it’s common for pets to gain a little weight when fed based on guidelines, so the amount can be reduced without harming your pet. We recommend reducing by increments of 1/8th cup at a time.

What if my dogs have a problem and don't like the food?

Bring it back and we’ll get you something different!

Can I switch between the formulas to give my dogs variety?

Yes, you can! We recommend a soft transition of two-three days (1/4, then 1/2, then 3/4 of new food per day) until fully switched.

Don’t overweight dogs need low-calorie diets?

Not necessarily. Most of the time, a low-calorie diet is actually dangerously high in carbohydrates and can cause dramatic spikes in insulin levels that could lead to weight gain and in many cases diabetes.

Some of these foods are high in fats. Will they make my dog fat?

No, dogs were meant to have a diet high in fat. What we need to look at is how much to feed the dog

What’s diatomaceous earth?

It’s crushed diatomes/shells. It works as a great toxin binder and many people say it helps with internal parasites. NOT a substitute for heart worm medication!

Why don't you have 15lb bags?

They don’t sell as quickly, so we can’t keep the product as fresh as we would like to. (Try offering a discount on three 6-lb bags.)

Do you have a frequent buyer program?

We do. Check with your store to see if they participate in the program.

What’s an option for my dog that can’t have chicken?

We have fish options that are poultry free and perfect for dogs with chicken allergies!

Can Large Breed dogs only eat the Large Breed Food?

You are safe to feed any of our products to a large breed dog. However, the large breed was designed to meet the needs of giant breeds with special attention paid to mineral levels.

We recommend limiting the amount of food left out for pets. Our foods are traditionally higher in protein and fat, which provide more calories and nutrition. This reduces the amount needed.

Can I feed these recipes to ALL of my dogs? I have both large and small dogs.

Yes, our foods are safe for all breeds and all life stages. It makes feeding a large pet family easy and safe. Even our Large Breed food is safe for small breed pets.

I have a Senior dog with sore joints. Do you have recipes that can help?

We like our Premium Natural Oceanfish with Ancient Grains. Its high in Omega 3 fatty acids and loaded with lean protein to maintain healthy muscle while managing inflammation.

I have a puppy. What recipe would you recommend?

Although all Ancient Grains are considered All Life Stages, we prefer Chicken & Pork for puppies, due to its high-protein, high-fat, low carb profile.

Why is the protein and fat so high?

High protein and fat is a more natural way to feed. By having a higher protein and fat, you naturally have a lower carbohydrate food. This means a lower glycemic index, along with overall healthier pet.

Why is this food so expensive?

This food is designed to be free of fillers and fluff. It’s more nutrient dense, utilizing premium ingredients that are bioavailable and have additional health benefits.

Why do you use Coconut?

Coconut is a low glycemic index fiber and carb source. Its healthy natural oils also promote healthy coats and energy.

Why is Grain Free important?

Not all grain free foods are equal. Ours are designed to be high in protein and fat, free from hidden sugar sources like white potato and tapioca. This lets us have a lower glycemic index while promoting an anti-inflammation lifestyle.

Why do you not use egg?

Although eggs are a wonderful protein source, some dogs may have an allergy to poultry protein. To make sure that our foods are safe for all dogs, we stay free from egg

Why are you dairy free?

We do not add any dairy ingredients like cheese in our foods to potential digestive upset. Dogs lose the ability to produce lactase as they mature, causing the consumption of dairy products to cause irritable bowels.

Is this food Gluten free?

Yes, our grain-free foods are made from 100% gluten-free ingredients.

What is New Zealand Green Lipped Mussell?

New Zealand Green Lipped Mussell is a nonGMO and organic mollusk harvested in New Zealand that has been proven to reduce inflammation and joint pain naturally. It’s rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, as well.

Why do you add cod liver oil?

Cod liver oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, specifically EPA & DHA. They are instrumental in brain development and central nervous system health.

Why don’t you use russett or white potatoes?

White/Russett potatoes are a hidden sugar. The high starches are converted to sugar in the body, causing weight gain. Sweet potatoes are a healthier alternative.

American Orange sweet potato vs plain sweet potato

We only use American Orange sweet potatoes due to their superior quality and local availability. Most sweet potatoes on the market are imported from Asia and don’t go through the same rigorous testing as domestically grown produce.

Is this food all natural?

Our foods are all 100% naturally preserved. No hidden preservatives or “disguised” labeling.
